Drawing inspiration from Indian mythology, this painting depicts an encounter between a rakshasa demon and a dakini. At dawn, within the courtyard of an ancient temple, the beautiful dakini performs her morning ablutions. At that moment, she is approached by a demon who has long admired her from afar.

As a gesture of devotion, he offers her a flower. Whether she will accept the gift remains uncertain. Her expression is both proud and reserved, yet not entirely unkind. The demon, meanwhile, stands in humble reverence, content merely to exist in the presence of her beauty.

The painting explores a form of love that seeks nothing in return. It suggests that even a being regarded as monstrous can be capable of profound admiration, loyalty, and selfless affection toward something beautiful and unattainable.
