Inspired by Indian mythology, this painting depicts the legendary battle between Garuda, the divine king of birds, and the serpent king of the Nagas. Garuda appears as a powerful being with a human body, wings, and the head of a bird.

The conflict between Garuda and the serpent beings reflects one of humanity's oldest symbolic dualities: fire and water, sky and earth, spirit and matter.
